Using Dynamic Text Replacement to Increase Conversions (DTR)

Dynamic Text Replacement (DTR) is a unique feature of GetLeadForms, designed to revolutionize how you engage with potential leads. This powerful tool serves two key functions:

  1. Boosting Conversion Rates: DTR enhances the relevance of your LeadForm copy in real-time, aligning it with the specific content of your page. This heightened relevance directly translates into increased lead conversions.
  2. Enhanced Efficiency: Streamline your workflow with DTR. Rather than creating numerous customized LeadForms, you can now dynamically update a single LeadForm to suit different contexts.

Exploring DTR Use Cases

  • Local SEO: For businesses like a Pest Control company with multiple location pages (e.g., Philadelphia, New York, Miami), DTR is a game-changer. Traditionally, each page required a unique lead form or a single generic form. With DTR, a single line of code updates your form's text to reflect the specific location viewed by a prospect. For instance, visitors to the Philadelphia page will see "Pest Control in Philadelphia" on the form, while those on the New York City page will see "Pest Control in New York City." This can also be applied to service pages.
  • Programmatic SEO: For those using programmatic SEO, DTR allows for the dynamic customization of forms across hundreds of pages. This capability ensures that each form is perfectly tailored to its specific page, maximizing relevance and engagement.
  • PPC/Paid Search: DTR's use case expands in paid search campaigns. It enables the LeadForm to dynamically align with specific keywords, headlines, or campaign themes, offering a more personalized experience on PPC landing pages. In addition, you can use DTR on paid social campaigns to match your form to your audience, targeting, etc.
  • eCommerce: Revolutionize your eCommerce strategy with DTR. It allows for dynamic updates on specific product or collection pages, enhancing personalization. For example, if running a promotional offer, DTR can display a message like "Save 15% on [Product Name]" tailored to the product viewed.

DTR is all about maximizing personalization and relevance to boost leads. It's a feature that you likely won't find in any other form tool, because most generic form builders could care less about your conversion rates. But at GLF, that's not the case. We care, and that's why we've built this unique feature.

How to implement DTR on your forms and landing pages

Integrating DTR into your website is straightforward and requires just a single line of code. If you're comfortable with basic copy-pasting tasks, you're all set to get started!

Here's a step-by-step guide, demonstrated with a practical example for a pest control website, to show you just how simple and effective DTR can be.

Step 1: Embed the DTR Code on Your Landing Page

First, you'll need to embed the DTR code into your landing page. Here’s the code snippet you’ll use:

<span data-form-key="custom_text_in_my_html" data-form-value="add_your_text_here"></span>

Replace "add_your_text_here" with the specific text relevant to each page. For instance, to display "Termite Inspection" on your form, modify the code like this:

<span data-form-key="custom_text_in_my_html" data-form-value="Termite Inspection"></span>

Copy and paste this updated code snippet into your landing page's HTML.

Repeat this process for each page, ensuring that each one has its unique, relevant text. This method guarantees that your visitors always encounter the most relevant and engaging messaging.

In this example, I cloned the rodent control page and created a termite inspection page, then simply changed the value of the DTR code.

Step 2: Add the DTR Tag to Your LeadForm

Once you've embedded the DTR code into your landing pages and personalized the messages, the final step is to incorporate the DTR Tag into your LeadForm. This enables dynamic updating of the form's content.

Your DTR Tag is:

{custom_text_in_my_html}

By including this tag in your form, your making it possible it to dynamically adapt its content.

This tag can be placed almost anywhere within your LeadForm, and you can even use it multiple times for various elements. We recommend considering these placements for optimal impact:

  • Form Headline: Captures immediate attention with relevant headlines.
  • Question Text: Tailors questions to the visitor's context.
  • Response Text: Offers context-specific responses.

Here's an example of the DTR tag added to the the form in the question text:

And here's how it looks on the Rodent Control Page:

Now if we go to Termite Inspection, notice that the exact form has dynamically updated to match the page.

Adding DTR to the question text so the most relevant response is always at the top of the LeadForm.

Here's how it dynamically updates on the rodent control page

Now let's look at how it updates for termite inspection:

DTR + The Onsite Message: A Conversion Powerhouse

The onsite message, a small widget appearing in the bottom right corner of the screen, significantly boosts form engagement and lead generation.

Now, imagine enhancing its effectiveness with personalized, DTR-powered messages.

Here’s How:

Simply customize the onsite message element of your form with your DTR Tag

And just like that that you'll have a more personalized onsite message that boosts engagement and conversions.
